Beat Boost
Beat Boost is a game that features a little surfer guy flowing through blocks of music that are generated from the game’s soundtrack. In true old school fashion the game is solely about achieving the highest possible score. To do this you boost the surfer into the colored blocks (called “beat blocks”) in each level or perform full, 360 degree front flips. The game was created as a submission for Boing Boing’s “Games Inspired by Music” contest and was selected as a finalist in the competition. Beat Boost ended up placing third after a week of voting at the Boing Boing Arcade.
The entire game was completed by myself in less than one week. For more info on Beat Boost you can read my blog post here or this follow up about my design and development process for the game. To play the game follow this link.
